Shipping Policy

Last Updated: 5 March 2026

This Shipping Policy governs the fulfillment, dispatch, and delivery of printed book orders purchased from Inkbound Publishers (“Inkbound”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) through https://inkbound.org (the “Website”).

Inkbound Publishers was previously known as The Law Brigade (Book) Publisher, and the current publishing platform continues the academic publishing activities formerly carried out under that name. References to “Inkbound”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy refer to the publisher operating the Website and its associated publishing services.

This policy applies exclusively to physical print orders. All digital publications released by Inkbound are distributed under an open access model and therefore do not require shipping.

By placing an order for printed books through the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Shipping Policy in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. Print-on-Demand Fulfillment Model

Inkbound provides print-on-demand (POD) versions of selected publications available through the Website.

Printed books are printed and bound on demand after an order has been confirmed, enabling flexible production for scholarly works with varying page counts, formats, and quantities.

Because each book may differ in:

  • total page count

  • trim size and format

  • binding specifications

  • number of copies ordered

the physical specifications of each order may vary significantly.

Accordingly, shipping requirements and logistics arrangements may differ for each order.

2. Shipping Cost Determination

Shipping charges are calculated after the order has been received and prepared for fulfillment.

Shipping costs depend on several operational variables including, but not limited to:

  • package dimensions

  • total shipment weight

  • number of copies ordered

  • destination country or region

  • courier availability and service type

  • applicable logistics or fuel surcharges

Because these variables differ for each print order, shipping costs cannot be predetermined in advance and are calculated on a case-by-case basis.

Where applicable, Inkbound will communicate the shipping cost to the purchaser before shipment is processed.

3. Global Shipping

Inkbound ships printed books worldwide using third-party logistics and courier providers.

Orders may be shipped to most countries and territories, subject to the availability of international courier services and compliance with local import regulations.

International shipments may be subject to:

  • customs clearance procedures

  • import duties

  • value-added tax (VAT)

  • goods and services tax (GST)

  • brokerage or handling fees

  • other regulatory charges imposed by the destination country

These charges are determined by local customs authorities and are outside the control of Inkbound.

4. Customs Duties, Taxes, and Import Charges

All customs duties, import taxes, or other regulatory charges imposed by the destination country are solely the responsibility of the purchaser.

This applies to all categories of buyers, including:

  • authors ordering personal copies

  • academic institutions or libraries

  • conference organizers

  • individual readers or book purchasers

Inkbound does not collect, estimate, or prepay customs duties or import taxes.

If customs authorities require payment of import charges before delivery, the purchaser must settle these charges directly with the relevant authorities or courier provider.

Failure to pay required import duties or taxes may result in:

  • delivery delays

  • refusal of delivery

  • return of the shipment

  • disposal of the shipment by the courier or customs authorities

Inkbound shall not be responsible for such outcomes.

5. Order Processing and Dispatch

Once a print order is confirmed:

  1. The book is prepared for print-on-demand production.

  2. The book is printed and bound according to the specifications of the publication.

  3. The order is packaged and handed over to a third-party shipping provider for delivery.

Production and processing times may vary depending on the book format, order size, and operational capacity.

Once the shipment has been dispatched, Inkbound will provide tracking details, where available.

6. Transfer of Responsibility

Inkbound’s responsibility for shipment ends once the package has been handed over to the designated shipping provider and tracking details have been issued to the purchaser.

From that point onward, the shipment is under the control of the courier or logistics provider.

Inkbound shall not be responsible for:

  • delivery delays

  • courier service disruptions

  • customs processing delays

  • lost or misrouted shipments

  • transportation damage caused by shipping providers

  • force majeure events affecting logistics operations

While Inkbound may assist in facilitating communication with shipping providers where feasible, delivery performance ultimately depends on the logistics carrier.

7. Estimated Delivery Timeframes

Delivery timeframes vary depending on the destination country and courier service used.

International shipments may experience delays due to:

  • customs inspections

  • regulatory compliance procedures

  • international transportation disruptions

  • local courier service limitations

Any delivery estimates provided by Inkbound are approximate and not guaranteed.

8. Accurate Shipping Information

Purchasers are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information at the time of order.

Required information typically includes:

  • recipient name

  • full delivery address

  • postal or ZIP code

  • contact details

Inkbound shall not be responsible for delivery failures caused by incorrect or incomplete shipping information supplied by the purchaser.

If a shipment is returned due to inaccurate address details, the purchaser may be required to pay additional shipping costs for re-dispatch.

9. Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Shipments

Inkbound uses established third-party courier providers; however, once a shipment has been transferred to the shipping provider, delivery risks are assumed by the carrier.

Inkbound does not guarantee delivery timelines and shall not be liable for losses caused by:

  • courier mishandling

  • transportation damage

  • customs seizure or regulatory intervention

  • delivery failures outside Inkbound’s control

Where appropriate, Inkbound may assist purchasers in contacting the courier provider or initiating a claim process.

10. Returns and Refunds

Due to the print-on-demand nature of our publications, printed books are generally non-returnable and non-refundable.

Inkbound does not accept returns for reasons including:

  • change of mind

  • incorrect orders placed by the purchaser

  • delivery delays caused by shipping carriers or customs authorities

Exceptions may be considered only in cases where a product is demonstrably defective due to printing or manufacturing errors, subject to verification by Inkbound.

Additional details may be outlined in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

11. Disclaimer of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Inkbound shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from shipping-related issues, including but not limited to:

  • shipping delays

  • customs clearance delays

  • import restrictions

  • lost shipments

  • additional taxes or duties imposed by authorities

Inkbound’s total liability in connection with any print order shall not exceed the amount paid by the purchaser for the printed product.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Shipping Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to this Shipping Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

Prior to initiating formal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation.

If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the Gujarat High Court Arbitration Center (GHAC) in Ahmedabad.

13. Policy Updates

Inkbound reserves the right to modify or update this Shipping Policy at any time.

Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our services following such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
